Whatever happened to working with what you already have? I know RPG Maker XP has a lot of limitations, but you could use it to do great things and make a game that's truly exceptional.

Would you want them to keep upgrading and adding on, trying to make the perfect game? Even if it means you'll never be able to enjoy ONE complete game because of the inevitability of improvements in technology, Nintendo will NEVER be finished with anything? Is it that bad to work with what you already have? No matter what anyone says, Nintendo has made really amazing games despite all the limitations of the hardware they have used. In this case, they want to fulfill their desires of creating the PERFECT game, with the MOST features, BEST engine, and the GREATEST Pokémon game that has ever been made. This all has to do with everyone's desire for the MOST and BEST of everything. With these two, you also don't have to spend weeks scripting a mouse function similar to the DS stylus because the foundation is already there. How about a Sphere or Game Maker starter kit instead? They would both be better options because of how much control you get. Silver Chronicles could be, but victorspvl insists on keeping it going forever. I don't see ONE Pokémon fangame on PokéCommunity being finished within the next few years. How about actually FINISHING at least one game with Pokémon Essentials/RPG Maker XP? If people can't even do this, then they shouldn't worry about how many different ways they can make things even more complicated for themselves.

People will use the limitations of RPG Maker XP as an excuse to switch over, but how many people have surpassed the limit of 999 items? How about maps? And Pokémon? You get the idea. It's like how people convert to D/P graphics just for the sake of doing so, even if they're using Pokémon Essentials where 80x80 pixel graphics resized look horribly distorted. In another couple years, Enterbrain will come out with ANOTHER version of RPG Maker and we'll be having this same discussion again.
